It’s been a busy time at The Posh Rock and, with Emilie graduating a few weeks ago (proud mum moment!), we decided we were both due a well-earned break. I love a city stopover but, for this occasion Zante was the perfect location to relax and soak up the rays!
Where we stayed
A small luxury, adult-only hotel located above the lively resort of Tsilivi, Zante Maris Suites is set amidst a forest of olive trees offering privacy, tranquility and unparalleled views of the Ionian Sea.
We booked a Private Pool Suite, which boasts a large outdoor terrace and pool area – the ideal sanctuary! However, if you book these suites and expect what you see on the website be warned that some come with limited outdoor space so make sure to check before you book.
Eating and drinking
The main restaurant is an open terrace with views of Tsilivi bay and offers a cold buffet breakfast with hot selections from the À La carte menu. Dinner is from a daily set À La carte menu while lunch and light snacks are available all day from the Pool Bar. (Expect a 25% additional charge for room service – this is the most expensive we’ve ever experienced in Greece!)
Cocktails are the main attraction here, Dimitri was amazing! He is a true artist, serving perfect classics alongside his own creations with finesse and great attention to detail. Having told him we had a passion for Gin, he asked what other flavours we liked and produced something spectacular on the spot, he instinctively knows what works!!
As lovers of the Greek Islands, Zakynthos (Zante) was a new destination for us and the Zante Maris Suites provided an idyllic hideaway. However, while Tsilivi is a busy resort, it wasn’t as cosmopolitan as Mykonos and Crete, with almost every restaurant and bar offering English food and beer – great for younger generations looking for something a bit livelier!
